My name is Russell and I'm a resident at St. John Hopkins hospital. I am a chef, but well, only know to those close to me. My passion for food started when I was just a boy.

My passion for food is also the same passion I have for medicine. Difference between the two is that I get to devour and enjoy one of them.

I always wanted to be a doctor but I also wanted to be a chef. In fact, if I had it my way I'd probably be an executive chef in some big hotel right now. However, you all know that when your parent decides to make the decision for you, you simply have no choice but to cooperate and that's how I became a medic.

My journey as a resident hasn't been all that trying either. I'm particularly interested in veins and vein diseases. Maybe it's because the first patient I lost as an intern was a pregnant woman who suffered complications as a result of varicose veins and died right after giving birth.

Not only was that the worst experience of my life, it was also the most traumatizing few months after that.
